Banksy
Banksy, the enigmatic figure of contemporary street art, disrupts conventions and challenges perceptions worldwide. His provocative political statements have sparked revolutions in the art scene, yet his identity remains shrouded in mystery, adding to his myth. Transitioning from Bristol graffiti crews to global notoriety, Banksy's multi-layered stencils and satirical imagery redefine the boundaries of street art, inspiring awe and controversy alike.
His early influences, notably Blek Le Rat, laid the groundwork for Banksy's distinctive style, characterized by incisive social commentary. Banksy's works resonate across diverse mediums, from the streets to prestigious auction houses. Among those his prints, which authenticity is certified by Pest Control, his various open editions and his sculptures from Medicom are the most sought after.
From guerrilla exhibitions in Palestine to the dystopian wonderland of Dismaland, Banksy’s artworks invite viewers to question societal norms and engage with pressing issues. His audacious interventions, like shredding his own artwork (Girl With Balloon, 2021) at auction, blur the line between art and spectacle, captivating audiences worldwide.
In the face of global crises, Banksy's art takes on new significance, from poignant tributes to frontline workers to poignant reflections on environmental degradation. With each new creation, Banksy continues to captivate and challenge, leaving an indelible mark on the global art landscape.
A solid value, a safe bet.

Trolley Hunters perfectly embodies Banksy’s blend of street art, graffiti, and biting satire. Set in a desert, the artwork depicts three prehistoric men armed with weapons, preparing to hunt a group of shopping carts. This ironic and humorous scene critiques modern consumerism and humanity’s reliance on mass-produced goods for survival. By replacing real prey with empty trolleys, Banksy mocks the absurdity of modern life and the loss of self-sufficiency. The work resonates today as a timeless commentary on capitalism, evoking post-apocalyptic imagery and frenzied retail scenes like Black Friday, where survival seems tied to shopping and competition.

Banksy's series reimagines Andy Warhol's Soup Cans for today's disillusioned audience. By depicting a Tesco Value soup, he subtly mocks the corporations responsible for wealth inequality and critiques the consequences of the consumerism Warhol celebrated.
In his 2004 artwork "Tesco Value Soup Can," Banksy epitomises this notion. Referencing a key example of twentieth-century art, it mimics Andy Warhol’s famous Campbell’s Soup Can paintings. Warhol, in 1962, elevated an everyday, inexpensive product into a symbol of high art. Four decades later, Banksy took Warhol's concept and made it pertinent to contemporary society.
Using Tesco's budget-friendly version of soup, devoid of the stylish branding that defined Campbell’s, Banksy comments on the austerity of today's culture. By choosing Tesco's own-brand tomato soup with its basic packaging, in stark contrast to Campbell’s luxury design, Banksy shifts the icon of post-war affluence into a symbol of twenty-first-century frugality.

Mostly known for his stencil and installation work, Banksy turned his attention to his native London's bills.
In 2004, the artist printed one million pounds worth of his Di Faced Tenner. The play on the term "defaced" (di-faced) comes from the fact that Banksy substituted the Queen's face with that of Princess Diana.
The altered bill, which also features the words "Banksy of England" were dropped into a crowd at the 2004 Notting Hill Carnival and later that year, The Reading Festival.
