Damien Hirst

Damien Hirst, born in Bristol, England in 1965, is a renowned conceptual artist and entrepreneur. He earned a BA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College in 1989 and gained international acclaim when he won the Turner Award in 1995, solidifying his status as the UK's wealthiest artist.

Maybe the most famous of the Young British Artists (YBAs), Damien Hirst is also now one of the most collected artist as Nfts.

Hirst's work delves into themes of death, rebirth, immortality, and beauty, often challenging conventional notions of art by employing ready-made objects. His career took off after curating the 'Freeze' exhibition during his university years, where he introduced his iconic spot paintings.

In 1991, Hirst embarked on his notable 'Natural History' series, featuring preserved animals in glass tanks filled with formaldehyde. The centerpiece, "The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living," showcased a 14-foot tiger shark, symbolizing life's fragility and becoming a hallmark of British art in the 1990s.

Among his later works are spin paintings, created using spin machines to produce vibrant circular compositions. However, his most controversial piece came in 2007 with "For the Love of God," a platinum skull encrusted with 8,601 diamonds, highlighting the intersection of mortality and commercialism in art.

More recently the digital/physical couple « The Currency » have been acclaimed around the world and Hirst may be one of today’s artists using Nfts at their maximum potential with redeemable projects like « The Empresses » .

We are proud to present you a selection of both original, sculptures and prints (especially The Empresses serie) from the British genius.
