Sliks

Rafael Sliks is a 28 years old Brazilian artist.

In 1997, he started to paint the streets of his hometown of Sao Paulo (doing « pixação ») and never stopped developing his unique style since.

Sliks very energic and abstract way of painting comes from his urban roots. His paintings are inspired by the intense urbanisation of Brazil. By the pollution of the modern cities, by the view of the skyscraper growing up days after days but also and before all by the vibrant and positive energy of the Brazilian youth.

An artwork by Sliks, on a wall in Brazil as well as on a canvas in a Flat in Europe is a powerful source of energy and inspiration for both of us.
