Bouquet was exhibited as a key painting in the recent museum exhibition, Juxtapoz x Superflat, a vibrant survey of work by contemporary artists curated by the renowned Japanese artist Takashi Murakami along with Evan Pricco, Editor-in-Chief of Juxtapoz Art & Culture magazine at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 2016. To commemorate the exhibition, Bouquet was also featured on the cover of the September 2016 issue of Juxtapoz. Expanding upon Murakami and Juxtapoz magazine’s interest in flattening high and low cultures, the exhibition included work by artists whose practice has been shaped by a variety of subcultures including skate, surf, graffiti, street art, comics, design, illustration, painting, and digital and traditional arts. According to Murakami, the catalyst for Juxtapoz x Superflat was conversations he had with Jean and Pricco during Jean’s show, Zugzwang, at Murakami’s gallery in Tokyo, 2015.
