The Pre Relic Eroded Camera Invitation (2012) is one of Daniel Arsham's earliest sculptural explorations of what he calls "fictional archaeology" idea that everyday objects from our present will one day be excavated as relics of a forgotten era. The camera was one of the first objects he chose, making this 2012 edition a piece of the artist's own origin story.Cast in resin, the eroded camera appears simultaneously ancient and familiar, frozen mid-decay.
Produced through Arsham Studio, this limited edition piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and is presented in Arsham-designed housing with die-cut foam, a sealing label, and a pair of custom art handling gloves. All details reflecting the studio's attention to the full collector experience.
